New Admin
Quote from Jeff Becker on October 27, 2025, 6:27 amDavid Kenady ended his long tenure as admin of this site and head of this ministry by retiring last month (Sept. 2025) . He’s done excellent work here over the decades and deserves our gratitude and appreciation.
Dave had his hand on the rudder of this ship and did an excellent job of keeping things on an even keel and moving forward. He established this ministry, not as a continuation of an old school, but as a new and exciting ministry teaching the Word of God.
Then he handed the reins of this ministry to me and I accepted that responsibility. I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Jeff Becker.
I’ve been with Dave since the start of this ministry in 2006. Together we captured the content of thousands of cassette tapes to digital files and made them available to you free of charge.
I’ve been behind the scenes as much as possible, mostly working on technical improvements. I hope that you’ll welcome me in this new role and help me through your prayers and support as we move forward together.
As I stepped into this new role I began to pray, seek the Lord and gather my thoughts about where this ministry is be going. At times I am very excited, at other times I feel overwhelmed but I always feel humbled by the Lord’s work and the possibilities of where this will go.
Just a few things you might want to know about me as I step into the role of leadership of Freely Given Online Bible College:
- I started in computers and electronics when I was a teenager including writing software used by the staff of the High School that I attended;
- I attended and graduated from the Bible College where the original material for this site was created and also attended the church associated with it;
- I received a Bachelor of Theology degree from that school and completed about one third of the credits needed for a Master of Theology degree;
- I was an Assistant Chaplain in the Pierce County Jail in which I ran a large program in the Chaplaincy. I also made significant improvements to the Bible training program that distributed books to inmates and tracked their progress;
- I’ve written and self-published a book on a specific area of Christian counseling and have 3 others in the works (the first took me 7 years, I like to make sure things right);
- I managed the tape library at that church for a time when it was still an actual tape library;
- I wrote a database application that kept track of tapes, check-outs and check-ins at that church;
- I was the software architect for a complete rewrite of an online learning site for an international private university;
- I’ve worked with numerous companies and organizations creating content management and delivery systems and many other applications across many industries on the Internet and on private networks;
- I’ve worked in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations at every level from entry to executive;
- For a brief time I taught at a Community College while they were establishing their new Webmaster program;
- As I said, I’ve worked with Dave since the beginning of this ministry when the entire content of the tape library was made available to us.
